Given widespread and repeated announcements of the Amended Injunction Order, clear police warnings, extensive media coverage and opportunity to leave, each respondent intentionally remained in the Area and by their presence and conduct (which were inherently likely and in fact caused prejudice) committed criminal contempt; proof of basic intent to remain and perform the acts constituting the actus reus was sufficient; police arrests did not determine guilt and derived from existing statutory powers.
