The trial judge's factual findings that the security guard reasonably feared immediate unlawful violence and that the appellant was subjectively aware of that risk were not irrational or impossible; accordingly the conviction for common assault was lawful and the custodial sentence (10 days, suspended for 2 years, with credit for time detained) fell within proper sentencing discretion and is upheld.
