Given two separate armed robbery incidents involving an apparent firearm, established authorities prescribing heavy sentences for jewellery shop robberies, and the risk and alarm caused by display of an imitation pistol, the Court held the sentences were not manifestly excessive or wrong in principle and refused the applications for leave to appeal against sentence.
