The trial judge's findings that both applicants' confessions were voluntary and credible were upheld; D1's application for leave to appeal conviction was refused; D2 was granted leave out of time to appeal but his conviction was upheld on the merits; however D2's out‑of‑time application to appeal sentence was allowed and the sentence reduced from 3.5 years to 3 years because of relative parity of culpability. The Attorney General's consent (not the Governor's) is required and was present.
