In Hong Kong, absent express statutory provision to the contrary, 'rent' for the purpose of distress under Part III of the Landlord and Tenant (Consolidation) Ordinance (Cap.7) does not include management fees or contributions; an exception exists where Cap.344 s.24 makes distress applicable to contributions under ss.22-23 and the Owners Incorporated authorizes pursuit by resolution.
