Because Hong Kong has not adopted the 1925 English property statutes that impose a statutory trust for sale, a joint tenant in Hong Kong retains an interest in the land itself; therefore the phrase 'interest in land' in Order 50 rule 1 includes a joint owner's interest (absent an express trust for sale) and a Charging Order Nisi may be made absolute against that interest.
