Leave to appeal was dismissed because the law includes transit importation as trafficking; the record showed counsel was appointed and pre-trial opportunities existed so the defence was not shown to be unready; the trial judge properly directed the jury that the defendant need not testify and warned against speculation; and the jury's verdict was supported by the evidence (2.9 kg methamphetamine in a false-bottom suitcase) and was not perverse.
