Validation orders were granted because the company offered to pay the judgment debts, the petitioners produced no evidence of other creditors or insolvency, the risk of preference was speculative, and the petitioners' refusal to agree was tactical and unjustified; accordingly s182 should not be used to stifle appeals and the petitioners were ordered to pay costs.
