Extension of time refused because the applicant offered no acceptable explanation for the delay (oral judgment was delivered in court while he was present), the proposed appeal had no real prospect of success because the underlying claims were time‑barred and additional grounds advanced were unpleaded and unsupported, and non‑compliance with procedural rules independently justified dismissal; accordingly the application for extension was dismissed and costs awarded to respondent.
