The machines were within the statutory definition of "automatic machine" because the lever and red button were mechanical devices integral to manipulate the game and to register scores; the magistrate properly preferred the Crown expert and his factual findings on the mechanical nature and necessity of these components were entitled to deference, therefore the conviction was upheld.
