The Court upheld the conviction and nine‑month sentence: despite identifiable weaknesses in parts of the prosecution case the cumulative evidence permitted a proper inference of triad membership beyond reasonable doubt, the trial judge's reasons and credibility assessments were adequate, and the sentencing judge did not err in exercising discretion (no deduction for delay, no suspension despite bail pending appeal) because deterrence was justified given the appellant's appreciable and unrepentant triad membership.
