The judge has inherent power to rectify a clear and unambiguous mistake in an order before it is sealed; accordingly the earlier erroneous denial of costs is set aside, the respondent is entitled to costs for the leave application and those costs are assessed at HKD 97,000 payable forthwith by the petitioner.

The Court found a clerical error/accidental slip and that the Judgment's manifest intention and earlier findings supported using HK$20,800 per month; it ordered rectification of paragraph 87 and consequential amendments to paragraphs 89, 90, 101 and 110 with revised arithmetic. The Court declined to vary the costs order against the 2nd Defendant because the applicant did not demonstrate exceptional circumstances or strong reasons to revisit the prior costs exercise; the Board's section 29 offer was considered but did not outweigh other relevant factors under Order 62 r.5.
