The trial judge did not err: the magistrate's committal ruling was not relevant because no sufficient connection existed between the prior disbelieved evidence and the officer's conduct in this trial; counsel must lay proper foundation for such cross-examination and, absent that foundation, the prior ruling was inadmissible and the conviction is safe.
