The magistrate's individual sentences (8 months for transferring a passport and 4 months for making a false statement) were appropriate, and the second offence was an aggravating factor warranting some consecutive time, but applying the principle of totality and allowing weight to the appellant's good character and immediate full confession, only two months of the 4-month sentence on Charge 2 should run consecutively to the 8-month sentence on Charge 1, producing a total effective sentence of 10 months imprisonment.
