The court held that the term "writ" in Order 75 r 8(3) and Order 75 r 11(1) refers to the sealed copy of the writ issued by the Registry for service and not the original writ retained in the Registry; therefore the Registrar may accept the application and the Bailiff may serve a sealed copy on the ship, while the original writ must remain in the Registry under Order 63 r 9.
