The Court held that although the prosecution's key witness was corrupt and had committed perjury, his discredited status did not require wholesale exclusion of his testimony; the perjury related to cross‑examination on credit and was distinct from the evidence proving conspiracy, and sufficient independent evidence remained (organisational role, collectors, and money traced to appellants' accounts) to prove the conspiracy beyond reasonable doubt, therefore the convictions were not unsafe.
