The Coroner erred in directing the jury that 'lack of care' was an available verdict because the deceased were not in dependent relationships nor was there a direct, immediate causal link of neglect to death from which that special coronial verdict could properly arise; accordingly the 'death due to lack of care' verdicts are quashed and the original verdicts of death by accident stand.
