The court exercised its discretion under O.45 r.11 (and ancillary jurisdiction) to grant an interim stay of execution for two months but found the Master's condition requiring HK$500,000 to be excessive and beyond GSI's demonstrated ability; accordingly the Master’s order was varied by setting aside the HK$500,000 payment condition insofar as it concerned GSI while leaving the HK$50,000 payment condition intact and awarding costs to BCM.
