The trial judge's overall direction to the jury was balanced and lawful; the jury was entitled to accept Chen's evidence despite inconsistencies and to convict the applicant. The sentencing judge reasonably inferred multiple shipments of approximately 1kg each from Chen's credible evidence and imposed a proportionate sentence given the aggravating factors; therefore leave to appeal against conviction and sentence is refused.
