The Court held the Master did not err in assessing a 12‑month sick leave period because he was entitled to consider all evidence (including the actual 516 days of sick leave) and to make independent findings; the Master was entitled to award a modest sum for loss of earning capacity based on residual pain affecting the plaintiff's teaching, and the PSLA award of HK$300,000 was within the reasonable range of comparable authorities and therefore must be upheld.
