The statutory demand complied with the Bankruptcy Rules and the debt (taxed costs under a section 17 Legal Aid Ordinance order) was properly recoverable; the appellant's credibility had been decisively discredited in prior proceedings such that his related claims were hopeless, making any amendment or adjournment futile; accordingly the bankruptcy adjudication and appointment of the Official Receiver were proper and the appeal was dismissed.
