The Court held the Beijing Court Rulings did not order payment of a sum of money under MJREO s5(2)(e) because they merely terminated a round of direct enforcement of notarised debt instruments and the sums were determined by the notary office (Execution Certificates) rather than by the court; accordingly registration under the MJREO was not available and the registration was correctly set aside.
