Section 24(1) of the Sale of Goods Ordinance protects members of the public who purchase goods in the ordinary course from a shop or market; it does not extend to protect a shopkeeper who buys goods in his own shop from a seller who lacks title. Therefore the shopkeeper did not acquire good title and the application to retain the coins fails.
