The magistrate erred in principle by failing to inquire into the appellant's means and by not sentencing each summons separately before applying totality; given the presence of genuine protected animal parts the appropriate sentence is a substantial fine targeted at the genuine items, payable within a set period and enforceable by a definite term of imprisonment if unpaid, rather than additional separate fines for the other summonses.
