On the balance of probabilities the judge accepted the plaintiff's account and Dr Tio's opinion that the accident caused a sprain/strain leading to trigger finger; the court preferred that expert evidence to Dr Wong's; consequentially the court awarded PSLA $120,000, pre-trial loss $196,265.30, special damages $7,000, disallowed claims for loss of earning capacity and loss of promotion, deducted employees' compensation and ordered interest and costs accordingly.
