The magistrate's adverse credibility findings were supported by the contemporaneous video evidence (P2) which showed the passenger boarding and the taxi departing within seconds, rendering the appellant's account implausible; on full rehearing the prosecution proved the offence beyond reasonable doubt and there was no reasonable excuse, therefore the conviction stands.
