Because the defendant was induced to commit the offence by a police informer (entrapment) and the trial judge did not take that mitigating factor into account, the Court reduced the custodial sentence from 4 years to 2 years.

Because the appellant was only a carrier with a minor role, made immediate admission and pleaded guilty, and having regard to comparable authorities, the appropriate sentence is 2 years' imprisonment; therefore the original sentence of 4 years is excessive and is reduced to 2 years.

The sentences were excessive in all the circumstances and, having regard to each defendant's antecedents and relative culpability, each sentence should be reduced by two years: D1 from five to three years, D2 from six to four years, D3 from four to two years.
