The trial judge was entitled to accept the police witnesses as truthful and reliable despite some discrepancies; the formal records of interview were correctly excluded for procedural irregularity but the oral remark on arrest was found to have been made and was admissible; combined with the appellant's fingerprint on an envelope and the surrounding circumstances the irresistible inference was that he was employed to carry envelopes containing dangerous drugs, so there was no merit in the application for leave to appeal.
