The appellate court upheld the magistrate's assessment that the child victim was credible notwithstanding minor memory lapses, that the scalp wound and arm bruise were caused by the appellant (hair-pulling and pinching respectively), and that the sentencing exercise (6 weeks and 3 weeks consecutive to total 9 weeks) was within range and not manifestly excessive given breach of trust and physical injury to a young child.
