- Court
- Court of Appeal
- Case number
- CACC444/2005
The Court held that, given the deliberate participation in pouring inflammable liquid and presence of open flames which caused death, the sentence of five years for manslaughter (giving an effective practical total of ten years with the arson sentence) was not manifestly excessive; the applicant's youth and positive conduct were mitigating but insufficient to vitiate the sentence and there was no error in principle.
