The court found the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt via cumulative circumstantial evidence (victim's age and care arrangement, last seen timings, blood spatter matching victim at the residence, pathologist's conclusion of fatal blunt head trauma inconsistent with accidental fall, Section 27 information by accused that led to discovery of remains) that both accused participated in the murder and acted in furtherance of a common intention and therefore convicted and sentenced both to death under section 302 Penal Code.
