The High Court held the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that the appellant's instructions caused an unusual and significant rise in Repco share price on 3 December 1997 and that the defence was an afterthought not properly tested; the trial court's acceptance of prosecution expert PW20 over defence experts was justified; conviction under s84(1) SIA was therefore safe; sentence of five years' imprisonment was excessive and reduced to one year while affirming the RM5,000,000 fine.
