High Court held that the guilty pleas were valid because the appellant admitted the facts (Exh P1 and exhibits), was informed via interpreter of the nature and consequences of pleading guilty, and the Sessions Court properly accepted the pleas in compliance with CPC s173 requirements; however the Sessions Court had not given adequate weight to the mitigating value of the guilty pleas, warranting reduction of the custodial terms. Distinct offences justified consecutive sentences.
