The High Court, exercising its revisionary jurisdiction, set aside the Sessions Court judge's refusal and substituted a gag order because the charge of criminal defamation against the King and the realistic risk of prejudicial dissemination by the accused justified a proportionate restriction to protect the integrity of the pending trial and witnesses; the order was within statutory and inherent powers (CPC ss 323, 325(1), 316(c), Subordinate Courts Act s99A/Third Schedule s26, Article 126).
