The exclusion clauses in the policy that bar payment of benefits where death resulted directly or indirectly from violation of law apply to death while riding a motorcycle without a valid driving licence; JPJ records established the deceased had no licence, that conduct is an offence under s26 Road Transport Act 1987, and therefore the accidental death benefit claim is excluded and the defendant's strike out application succeeds.
