The court found the prosecution had proved a prima facie case: witnesses gave consistent credible evidence of selection, sealing, custody and testing of the urine sample; laboratory analysis confirmed amphetamine and methamphetamine which are not produced by natural urine degradation; administrative guidelines cited are not statutory and no gap in chain of custody or credible evidence of tampering was shown; the presumption under s.37(k) DDA 1952 remained unrebutted by the defendant's bare denial; accordingly defendant guilty under s.15(1)(a) DDA 1952.
