The court held there was no illegality, irrationality or disproportionality in the disciplinary process or outcome: the charges were sufficiently particularised, relevant documents were provided, applicants did not request oral hearings, regulations 35 and 37 were complied with, there is no general duty under the regulations to provide reasons for dismissal, and the disciplinary authority’s decision to dismiss was within its remit and supported by evidence.
