The High Court held the defendant's pleading amounted to a bare, general denial lacking particulars and merit (a sham defence); the defendant improperly attempted to remedy pleading defects by reliance on an affidavit and by fishing for documents; under Order 18 r.19 Kaedah-Kaedah Mahkamah 2012 the Sessions Court correctly struck out the defence and entered judgment, and the High Court affirmed that exercise of discretion.
