Prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that the seized tablets were MDMA totalling 1363.5g, that the accused had physical control of the marked package and, on the totality of circumstances, knowledge of its illicit nature; statutory presumption under s37(da) applied because weight exceeded statutory threshold; chain of custody intact and defence amounted to bare denial failing to raise reasonable doubt, therefore conviction for trafficking under s39B(1)(a) DDA was warranted and imprisonment for life fixed at 30 years was appropriate.
