Prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case because it did not exclude access by others to the seized drugs, failed to call pivotal witnesses (notably Hariharan and Suresh/@Fire) and failed to produce or account for material evidence (the pink bag, CCTV, visitor logs, seized phones), thereby creating reasonable doubt and justifying adverse inferences; accordingly accused were acquitted and discharged without being called to enter defence.
