On the balance of probabilities the plaintiff failed to prove the essential elements of defamation: the impugned Facebook posts were not shown to be defamatory in their natural and ordinary meaning when read in context, did not specifically refer to the plaintiff (identification was too general), there was insufficient proof of publication to identifiable third parties, and no admissible evidence of malice or of actual harm was established; accordingly the plaintiff's claim is dismissed and costs awarded to the defendant.
