Court allowed Toyota to intervene as it had a direct, substantive interest as a judgment creditor and respondent in the appeal; the applicant lacked standing because only the receiver/liquidator had authority to file or continue proceedings for a wound‑up company and the applicant failed to show he sought and was refused the receiver's sanction; absent statutory provision, leave under s.486 cannot be granted retrospectively to validate prior unauthorised filing; accordingly the application for leave was dismissed with costs.
