The court found the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt all elements of s14(a) based on credible, consistent testimony of the child victim supported by other evidence; the defendant's denial was a bare, afterthought explanation and insufficient to raise reasonable doubt; therefore conviction under s14(a) was warranted and a custodial sentence with corporal punishment was appropriate.
