Prosecution failed to prove a prima facie case because it did not establish beyond reasonable doubt that the pathology report related to the accused's urine sample: chain of custody and disposal procedures were non‑compliant with s407A, key documentary proof and witnesses for movements and disposal were not produced, the computer‑generated disposal list (ID18) lacked s90A certification or proper oral proof, and material contradictions on timings, sample volume and photographs created reasonable doubt; accordingly the accused was acquitted and discharged without being called to enter a defence.
