The court exercised its discretion under O.20 r.5 to allow the amendments (Enclosures 58, 59, 60) because the proposed pleadings supplied additional particulars and filled gaps without changing the character of the defence, the applications were bona fide, and any prejudice to the Plaintiffs could be addressed by permitting a period to file amended replies and by awarding costs to the Plaintiffs.
