The court held both Plaintiffs, being unregistered under the Architects Act 1967, are statutorily barred by s.7(1)(c) from recovering any fees; the Contract, Deed and Novation Agreement are void and unenforceable for illegality under the statute and Contracts Act grounds, therefore Plaintiffs' claims were dismissed, the Second Defendant's declarations that the works are architectural and Plaintiffs are barred from claiming fees were granted, refund claims failed, and limited costs were awarded to the First Defendant.
