The High Court held that Notices of Withdrawal of Appeal do not automatically terminate appeals once registered; the court retains jurisdiction to exercise revisionary powers under Chapter XXXI KTJ and may cancel filed Notices of Withdrawal and order that the appeals proceed for hearing and review where necessary to prevent miscarriage of justice, provided the court exercises its discretion fairly and affords procedural opportunities to the accused.
