The prosecution adduced credible, consistent and detailed evidence from the child victim supported by medical findings; defence evidence amounted to uncorroborated denials by interested family members and failed to raise a reasonable doubt. Therefore each element of s14(a) was proved beyond reasonable doubt and the appellant is guilty on both counts; concurrent custodial sentences and ancillary orders under ss26 and 27 are appropriate.
