The Court of Appeal allowed the appeals in part, set aside the original convictions and life sentence under section 39B(1)(a) for the first charge, accepted the amended plea under section 6 Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 (read with section 39A(2) and section 34 Penal Code) and imposed a substituted global sentence of nine years imprisonment from date of arrest (7 October 2020) plus ten strokes, based on the weight of cannabis (502.9g), comparative precedents and the appellants' mitigation.
