Appellant withdrew challenge to conviction; on sentencing appeal the Court held that the original aggregate sentence (14 years and 7 strokes) was excessive in the circumstances and reduced and restructured the sentence to 7 years imprisonment and 2 strokes from date of arrest for the s14(d) offence, with an additional 3 years imprisonment and 2 strokes under s16(1) to run consecutively, together with orders for counselling and three years police supervision under ss26 and 27 of the Act.
